Crochet top - 20 years later

Here's a story. In 1997 I had a very unpleasent experience in the beauty salon: the facial steamer that is used to soften your skin, started spitting extremely hot water, because - as it turned out later - it was clogged. The water, which was supposed to be vapour, burned my skin on the decolette area (luckily it missed the face!). It was summer and everybody was wearing as little clothes as possible... except me. I had to cover my burnt decollete to protect it from the sun and of course prying looks. First I was using a scarf, but then I got a brilliant and stylish idea. Something I could wear that would cover my burn and be fashionable as well. And I came up with this 70's inspired triangle crochet top ....

.... that my grandmother made for me ans it perfectly covered the burn on my neck! My grandma was a great knitter, meanwhile her sister was more of a crochet girl, but she passed away a few years before. So I asked my granny to crochet this top for me since it wasn't very complicated to make. And she did. And that was almost 20 years ago! Oh, my god! How did that years passed?! I kept it beacause it was special to me, and it will always remind me of my beautiful granny.... And now I see the same top all over the Instagram as the the new IT item of this summer. How cool is that?

Letošnji poletni modni hit, ki prihaja iz vroče Avstralije, so kvačkane kopalke, nekaj v stilu topa, ki je na zgornji sliki. Prav tega, ki ga vidiš na sliki, mi je skoraj 20 let nazaj nakvačkala moja babi. Zgodila se mi je namreč nesreča pri kozmetičarki: vaporizator iz katerega gre ven para in je namenjen mehčanju kože pred nego, je namreč namesto pare ven začel pljuvati vrelo vodo, ki me je opekla po dekolteju (na srečo je zgrešila obraz). Opeklina je bila precej globoka in grda, zgodilo pa se je na začetku poletja. Zato sem jo morala nekako zaščititi pred soncem in radovednimi pogledi. Najprej sem nosila rutke, potem pa sem prišla na idejo, da bi mi babi nakvačkala trikoten top v stilu 70-ih, ki bi pokril tisti del, vratu, kjer je bila rana. Popolnoma enake zdaj najdeš na spletni strani She Made Me, skupaj s spodnjimi deli in enodelnimi kopalkami, ampak niso prav poceni. Zato ti predlagam, da poiščeš nekoga, ki zna kvačkati (staro mamo, teto, sosedo) in ga prosiš naj ti nakvačka tak top ali bikinke. Nekaj ponudnikov pa najdeš tudi na Facebooku.
