A weekend getaway to Lombardy

I consider myself lucky to be living just a few kilometres away (or 5 to 6 hours drive) from the fashion's capital, Milan. But, I don't drive, at least not that far, so I grab the opportunity to tag along with friends or simply use the train or bus… This time on our way to Milan we stopped in the beautiful Como lake - mediterranean pearl in the middle of the Swiss Alps, and the getaway resort of many aristocrats and celebrities, including George Clooney. We also paid a visit to a fairytale looking Lecco and Belaggio, two of the beautiful and elegant towns that are also situated on the shores of lake Como.

When I travel, I'm always wearing comfortable clothes. To me jeans and sneakers are a staple, everything else is optional. This time I wore long denim pants for Como and a short version for Milan because the temperatures in the fashion's capital were really high. Also, there is another thing you absolutely need when you're visiting Lecco: the umbrella. The showers there are as often as not, due to the mountains that surround it. If you don't have it, you won't have a problem buying it from the many street vendors offering them for 10 euros, but I got mine for 5...

(SLO) Pravzaprav je kar sreča, če živiš tako blizu ene glavnih modnih prestolnic Milana (samo 5 do 6 ur vožnje stran). Na žalost ne vozim rada, vsaj ne tako daleč, zato se ponavadi odpravim v Milano z vlakom ali avtobusom. Tokrat smo se na poti v Milano ustavili še na jezeru Como – mediteranskemu biseru sredi Alp, prav na meji s Švico, ki velja za pribežališče italijanske in tuje aristokracije ter zvezdnikov, med katerimi zagotovo izstopa George Clooney, ki tu v svoji vili s katerim od igralskih kolegov, na primer Edwardom Nortonom, in ženo Amal preživlja poletne mesece. Zato ne bi bilo prav nič nenavadno, če bi nanj naletela med sprehodom po ozkih uličicah Belaggia, Lecca ali Coma (pa žal nisem).

Ko potujem, sem vedno oblečena v udobna oblačila. Kavbojke in superge so nujne, vse ostalo pa je opcijsko in odvisno od vremena ali kraja, ki ga obiščem. Tokrat sem za Como oblekla dolge, za Milano pa kratke jeans hlače, saj so bile temperature, še posebej v modni prestolnici, izjemno visoke, ampak ne nenavadne za ta letni čas. Za obisk mesta Lecco ob jezeru Como pa priporočam še nekaj: dežnik. Plohe in nevihte so tam stalnica in precej pogoste, menda zato, ker je to pravljično mesto umeščeno med gore in jezero. Če dežnika ne boste imeli s sabo, pa tudi ne bo težav, saj vam takoj, ko se vlije dež, temnopolti ulični prodajalci ponujajo dežnike vseh velikosti in barv za okoli 10 eur. Jaz sem svojega dobila za 5.
