So, you think you're ready for autumn?

Here's September, and with it sooner than you think comes autumn… The gloomy weather, the rain, the cold … It's a nightmare, right? Wrong. If you already have your autumn wardrobe in check you are ready, believe me, if not, there's still time....
I have picked some of the more affordable pieces from three of my favourite high street brands – Zara, Mango and H&M - that are going to be huge this season. I couldn't wait, so I already bought some of them, even though I actually want them all. But because, as you already know, I prefer to style new clothes with what I already have in my closet from previous seasons, I left something for you, too.
I already did a list of must haves for AW 2016/17 (here), but here are those that with a little less damage to your wallet you can incorporate in your daily outfits.
PANTS

– Tracksuit pants and culottes are a must have this season and a great alternative for when you really don't feel like wearing those jeans again (clockwise from left Mango, H&M, Zara)
SKIRTS

– You only need three types of skirts this season: a pleated one, a ribbed pencil skirt and a leather or suede mini (clockwise from left Mango, H&M, Zara)
SWEATERS

– This season will mark the return of the hooded sweatshirts and ribbed 60's style ski sweaters. Add a turtleneck with frills and bell sleeves and you're ready for fall (clockwise from left H&M, Mango, Zara)
DRESSES

(MANGO)

(ZARA)

(H&M)
– As far as the dresses there is a lot of ribbed, body hugging fabric, with flaunces, like the dark blue perfection of H&M dress (above left). There are also a lot of tunic dresses in vibrant colours or embroidered flowers (Zara) and shift dresses with short sleeves and white collars (Mango).
JUMPSUITS

- I think that every woman should have at least one jumpsuit in her closet, for those days you don't feel like wearing a skirt or a dress and you just want to throw something on in the morning. Luckily this season jumpsuits are a must (clockwise from left Mango, Zara, Zara)
JACKETS

- This seasons light jackets for late summer nights and the beginning of autumn are basically a denim jacket with patches all over, a satin bomber jacket and the Vetements inspired Zara trench coat which I feel in love with instantly and it's already on my shopping list (clockwise from left Zara, Mango, H&M)
COATS

- If we rewind to winter this is what you'll need: an oversized, possiblly checked coat or military inspired coat… or both (clockwise from left H&M, Mango, Zara)
SHOES

(MANGO)

(ZARA)

(H&M)
- These are the must have autumn shoes: Miu Miu inspired ballerinas, court shoes with big chunky heel, slides that remind us of slippers (with or without fur inside), heeled loafers, lace-up shoes, over the knee boots and last but not least, chunky boots.
BAGS

- The only thing your bag needs this season is a wide leather or fabric belt, similar to the ones that the guitar players have. You can buy it separately and add it to one of your old bags, or just buy a new bag - there is a really nice selection of those Fendi inspired bags in Zara.
You can find all the items shown here in Zara, Mango or H&M stores or, even better, on their websites, unless they are sold out in the meantime.
